Why Get a Tattoo?

Why Get a Tattoo?

During the 1960’s, the fad was long hair, today the fad is tattoos. So why do people get tattoos even though it may just be a fad and may not be popular in ten years? Here are five reasons I found why people get tattoos.

A Tattoo Represents A Point In Their Life
Some people will get a tattoo to reflect a point in their life. Such as having a name of a love one tattooed on their body. For example, my wife’s daughter has the name of her daughter placed on her backside. Others may have the symbol of the armed forces service they served in, engraved on their body.

A Memory Not To Be Forgotten
Tattoos are also acquired to remind the bearer of a memory that they do not want to forget. Such as a memory of a love one that has passed on.

To Be Rebellious
Like in the mid-sixties when long hair and the hippie generation was around, tattoos are acquired to make a rebellious statement to society. The only difference between long hair and tattoos, is that you can cut your hair when the fad fades, it is a little more difficult to take out a tattoo when this fad goes away.

Represents Their Interest
Some tattoos are sought to show what the person is interested in. For example if a person is interested in motorcycles, he or she may have the design of a motorcycle placed on them. Or a florist may have tattoos of flowers on them to help advertise their business.

Conversation Piece
Some people get tattoo designs to be unique and have as a conversation piece.

If you want a unique tattoo to draw attention to yourself, go to tattoo design they have thousand of unique designs and is updated regularly.

Laser Removal of Tattoos for Girls

  Laser Tattoo Removal  for Girls

Laser removal of tattoos for girls depends on different light wavelengths from visible light to near-infrared radiation. This diversity of laser beams is justified by the very demanding operation of tattoo removal particularly in the case of very colored tattoos. For the same tattoo, two or even more wavelengths can be used in combination. Another essential parameter here is the pulse duration, because this element has a direct connection with the safety of the procedure. The longer the exposure to the laser beam, which translates into a longer pulse duration, the higher the incidence of acute punctuate bleeding.

Laser tattoo removal can be very painful and traumatic for the tissues when too many treatment sessions are required to break the ink in the skin. Serious adverse reactions are usually associated with very big tattoos designed in a multitude of colors (such as butterfly or dragonfly tattoo designs). The medical practitioner has to adjust the spot size of the laser light depending on how deep the ink lies in the skin. When a large width of the laser beam is used, the treatment will be completed faster. Nevertheless, this would mean that more skin is being exposed to the light’s action, particularly if there’s a higher rate of repitition.

Many people wonder about how effective laser tattoo removal really is. The truth is that there are no guarantees and that it mainly depends on the individual body response. Besides the technical properties of the equipment, the individual factors have a very important influence on the rate of success, which means that without a good immune function, you’ll have troubles eliminating the ink in the skin. Good night rest, proper hydration, a normal weight and a healthy lifestyle represent side factors that play a role in tattoo removal. Normally, health investigations are are a rule of the thumb before the beginning of laser tattoo removal, and no treatment will be initiated on patients with deficient immune systems.

After undergoing laser removal of tattoos for girls, the skin will get elevated slightly and there will be a white discoloration appearing on the tissues. Punctuate bleeding could also appear occasionally. While the white color is the result of gas or steam formation in the skin, the pinpoint bleeding represents the consequence of the laser light interacting with the color pigment. Bleeding is actually a sign of injury. The skin around the tattoo may also be inflated but such side effects have low intensity of manifestation. A crust will appear during the next 14 days after the laser tattoo removal, and the color will begin to fade over the next two months.

Forms of Tattoo Removal Through History

In a period beginning with the Middle Ages, tattoo removal was a prestigious medical specialty. Beginning around 1500, because of religious beliefs, tattooing was less prevalent and hence the practice of tattoo removal nearly died out.

Historically, many forms of tattoo removal were nothing more than magic and, of course, did not remove the ink deposit. Many years later, unique concoctions and one of these was a tattoo removal cream known to be used as early as 54 A.D. and was made of white garlic, ground up cantharides and a mixture of sulfur, bronze coins, beeswax and oil. Cantharides, is a skin blistering agent and could conceivably destroy superficial marks, but anything deeper would be untouched unless the resulting blister reached the dermis or second layer of skin and caused removal of the pigment. As late as 1962 cantharides was known to be used as a form of tattoo removal. The instructions were to apply the irritant, wait 10 minutes, cut away the resulting blister and apply a second coat to the exposed raw skin. The end result is said to have been surprisingly good considering the alternatives available at the time.

Dating back to the 543 A.D., the Greek physician, Aetuis prescribed a tattoo removal cream consisting of one part pepper, two parts rue, two parts orpiment, and unspecified quantities of nitre and turpentine resin. The application of this concoction caused raw, bleeding skin that was then covered with salt. The mixture was reapplied on the sixth and 12th day. Twenty days afterwards the second application the tattoo was usually gone, but was replaced by a large ulcer, which eventually was covered with scar tissue.

Eventually, such chemicals as nitric and sulfuric acid were tried, but were to strong. In the late 19th century, the Variot method of tattoo removal was introduced, which is a form of over tattooing with tannic acid and rubbing silver nitrate on the treated area. This technique was time consuming and generally resulted in severe scarring. In the early 20th century the Variot method was revived and improved upon by adding lignocaine hydrochloride 2%, adrenaline one 1/80,000th, glycerin and distilled water and re-tattooed into the skin. The area was then swabbed with silver nitrate to form a black crust, which remained for 2 to 3 weeks. Once the black crust fell off, the resulting area was generally tattoo free, but scarred.

Since the time of the improved Variot method of tattoo removal great strides have been made in the science of tattoo ink removal. Listed below are the common methods used today.

Laser surgery

TCA

Surgery

Tattoo Cream Removal

Dermabrasion

Salabrasion

Of the above mentioned methods laser surgery is the best known, followed close by TCA tattoo removal and tattoo removal cream. Laser surgery requires visits to a doctors’ or technicians’ office every 6 to 8 weeks until the tattoo has been removed or faded. This form of tattoo removal is not effective on light pigmented tattoos, it works best on black, dark blue and other very dark colors.

TCA tattoo removal is a common chemical peel product used every day by doctors the world over to remove skin blemishes of all kinds. It is also highly effective for the removal of tattoo pigment regardless of the color.
Tattoo removal cream comes in many formulas, but is uniform in the use of skin pigment fading chemicals as a major component of their formula. Some of these creams also incorporate exfoliates in the form of desiccated silica or sometimes crushed walnut shells and these creams are sometimes effective, although they do take a long period of time and can be very costly as they are usually sold in amounts enough to treat a tattoo for one month at a time. Some of the tattoo removal cream manufacturers also include a battery operated sander or other form of exfoliate along with the cream, as it has been suggested by doctors at the Mayo Clinic that creams by themselves generally do not have the capacity to penetrate through the top layer of skin, known as the epidermis, to the second layer of skin, known as the dermis, wherever the tattoo is located.

Second Guessing Helps Tattoo Removal Business Flourish

A rise in tattoo removal procedures might actually mean a rise in revenue for tattoo parlors. Plenty of people will remove an old tattoo or one they don’t like anymore so that they can get a new one in its place.

Body Electric Tattoo is home to tattoo artist Cary Kandarian.  “Every day is kind of crazy, you know, every tattoo is crazy,” says Kandarian. He just gave 20-year-old Nathan his fifteenth tattoo. It’s a skull with the words Los Angeles.

“I love LA,” says Nathan, “It’s cool, I’ve only been here a couple of weeks and, it’s all good.”

Not every client takes tattooing as casually as Nathan. And lots of folks who have gotten tattoos would like to take them off. The old methods of eliminating tattoos, according to a laser tattoo employee named Kirby, really don’t appear pleasurable.

“People would blast your tattoo off like a bazooka and leave a horrible scar. Other choices for tattoo removal are dermabrasion which is like scrubbing it away with a wire brush, excision which is cutting it off and stitching your skin together again, you tend to have a scar that way.”

Kirby says laser treatment eliminates tattoos without damaging your skin. “If you think of a pigment particle just like a pebble under your skin and your body doesn’t want that pigment particle there because it’s a foreign body but it’s a marble its too large for your body to get rid of. The laser comes in and it operates like a hammer to break that pebble into a million different pieces that are really small, and now they’re small enough for your body to get rid of.”

Last year, the clinic Kirby works at did fourteen thousand tattoo removal treatments. The youngest client was only fourteen and the oldest eighty-seven. The typical person was a woman between eighteen and thirty-four. Whether it was somebody fresh out of jail, a USC undergraduate, or even a customer who actually got their tattoo several hours earlier, Kirby said all of them had something in common – these people wanted a fresh start.

“It’s more than getting a haircut, it’s more than getting your nails done, it’s more than getting a new apartment, it’s a brand new lease on life, it makes you feel like a new person,” says Kirby.  “We’ve seen ex-lovers names, fraternity letters, and the ever-so-trendy barbed wire tattoos every day. Some tattoos, however, are more extreme than others.”

“I’m a big Willie Nelson fan, I’ve been to Lukenback, Texas, and I have seen Willie Nelson’s face on a woman’s private parts where her pubic hair is Willie Nelson’s beard.”

Where the tattoo is on your body as well as what kind and color of ink used all can determine how easily a tattoo can be taken off. The closer the tattoo is to one’s heart, the easier it can be to remove since there is more blood circulation. And lots of folks will clear up an area of skin so that they can have another tattoo put in its place. More business for tattoo removal companies may well lead to more business for tattoo parlors.

UFC Removes Dan Hardy’s Tibetan Tattoo to Please Chinese Dictatorship Government

While promoting this fight, UFC president Dana White ordered Dan ‘The Outlaw’ Hardy’s tattoo to be “wiped clean” from all the promo materials. The tattoo is in Tibetan. A Tibetan prayer: “Om Mani Padme Hum”. White said – “I’m trying to get into China. I don’t need anti-Chinese government stuff on my fighters” SHAME ON UFC.

President Dana White isn’t exactly going to win any PC awards anytime soon. The notorious spokesman for the rapidly-growing full contact martial arts empire is known for his tendency to speak first and think later. In one famously public tirade, White went ballistic on journalist Lorretta Hunt, calling her a “bitch” and a “moron” and labeling one of her sources both a derogatory term for homosexual and a derogatory term for female genitalia, respectively.

Apparently however, White’s predilection for free expression is not something that he values in those who work for him. Hence his decision to remove welterweight contender Dan Hardy’s Tibetan language tattoo from all promotions for the upcoming UFC 111 fight, in order to not offend the Chinese government. “I’m trying to get into China. I don’t need anti-Chinese government stuff on my fighters” said White, eloquent as always.
